January & February: Jewish Federation of New Hampshire Film Festival presented Shared Legaciesand Joachim Prinz: I Shall Not Be Silent films and post-film discussions. 

March: Interfaith Seder, focusing on social justice issues of freedom and liberation. 

Previous Activities

In December’s Lunch & Learn program: Praying with Our Feet: Black-Jewish Relations During the Civil Rights Era and Today, Professor Emeritus Stephen Whitfield of the American Studies Department at Brandeis University spoke about Black-Jewish relations during the Civil Rights Movement and after. 

We Are Family: Rethinking Race in the Jewish Community. November’s program presented Rabbi Angela Buchdahl’s Yom Kippur sermon examining how Jews have evolved to include many people that don't necessarily "look Jewish."  See the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNhG8aW6gbI

In October, A Conversation on Race with facilitators from the Granite State Organizing Project (GSOP) was held.  GSOP, the largest grassroots community organizing effort in New Hampshire, is comprised of religious, community, labor groups and individuals working for economic and social justice.  In this program, GSOP’s multi-racial team shared basic concepts about racism, and facilitated a rewarding exploration among participants.  http://granitestateorganizing.org/what-we-do/

In September, an Implicit Bias Workshop was presented by staff from the NH Office of Health Equity.   Attendees explored the concept of implicit bias, and uncovered some of their own unconscious biases.  

Justice in July specifically addressed issues of racial discrimination.  Weekly discussions explored a variety of readings, films, videos and podcasts, such as: 13th, Ava DuVernay’s documentary about the 13th Amendment (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krfcq5pF8u8); Confronting Internalized Racism (https://rac.org/sermon-confronting-internalized-racism).
