Southern NH Jewish Men's Club Breakfast - Vignettes of Jewish Life Around the World
Sunday, March 17, 2024 • 7 Adar II 5784
9:30 AM - 12:00 PMSocial Hall“Vignettes of Jewish Life Around the World” will be the topic of discussion by Mimi and Sam Bogen, Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 9:30 AM, LIVE IN PERSON at Temple Beth Abraham. The Southern New Hampshire Jewish Men’s Club is proud to sponsor this presentation and breakfast.
Mimi and Sam first met while studying at the State University of New York at Albany. After graduation Mimi became a Librarian at the New York State Library in Albany. Sam went on to a career as Chief of Staff for the Office of Cultural Education in the New York Education Department. Both Mimi and Sam took advantage of an early retirement offer in 2009 and decided to use their buy out packages to allow them to begin traveling in earnest.
“Vignettes of Jewish Life Around the World” will recount Mimi and Sam’s travel adventures to Jewish sites around the world, some as organized or self-guided tours and some that were just serendipitous findings such as eating a Kosher burger at McDonalds in Buenos Aires. Since 2009 their travels have taken them to such exotic locations as Cuba, India, Azores, Argentina, Bulgaria, and Romania to name just a few.
Mimi and Sam will also explain their process of learning about Jewish sites both before and while they are traveling. Their presentation will include many memories and personal pictures taken during their trips to uncover Synagogues, Cemeteries, and other remnants of both previous and current Jewish life abroad.
Mimi and Sam will be glad to entertain a Question-and-Answer session at the end of their presentation. Please be sure to join us Sunday, March 17th for Mimi and Sam’s interesting, informative and colorful presentation.
Our kitchen crew will be preparing a sumptuous feast of scrambled eggs, waffles (including Ben's 100% Pure Maple Syrup), tater tots, bagels, lox, and whitefish salad, with veggies, fruit, orange juice, milk, coffee, and water.
