Southern NH Jewish Men's Club Breakfast - Reaching Our Peak Potential
Sunday, February 11, 2024 • 2 Adar I 5784
9:30 AM - 12:00 PMSocial Hall“Reaching Our Peak Potential” will be the topic of discussion by Dr. Randy Pierce, Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 9:30 AM, LIVE IN PERSON at Temple Beth Abraham. The Southern New Hampshire Jewish Men’s Club is proud to sponsor this presentation and breakfast.
During two short but significant weeks in 1989, a devastating neurological disease transformed Randy Pierce from a healthy, ordinary young man to a blind man, completely uncertain of his future. Randy’s passion for experience encouraged him to use adversity as a positive catalyst for growth and opportunity.
Since those two weeks in 1989 Randy has earned his second-degree Karate black belt; achieved historic hiking accomplishments from the White Mountains of New Hampshire to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa; won two national marathon championships; completed several Tough Mudder events; and was inducted as a fan into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
A New Hampshire native, Randy earned his BSEE from the University of New Hampshire in 1988 and enjoyed a successful career at Digital Equipment Corporation as a hardware design engineer. As his progression toward total blindness moved forward, Randy transitioned in 1994 from engineering to a variety of volunteer projects such as tutoring and martial arts instruction, allowing him to hone his teaching and presentation skills.
Randy is currently the President and CEO of Future in Sight, formerly known as the New Hampshire Association for the Blind. The recipient of numerous awards for his volunteer service, Randy has been featured in New Hampshire Public Television’s “Hiking in the Dark” which won a New England Emmy for Outstanding Magazine Program/Special. In 2018, Randy released his first book, co-authored with his wife Tracy, entitled "See You at the Summit: My Blind Journey from the Depths of Loss to the Heights of Achievement.”
A riveting, positive and powerful speaker, Randy has helped organizations including Google, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Boston University, and more, lead their organizations to their very own versions of “Reaching Their Peak Potential.”
Randy, a two-time TED Talk presenter and commencement address speaker, featured on national television shows including Rosie O’Donnell, Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Best Damn Sports Show will share some of the details of his journey and many lessons available to all of us – both personally and professionally – about striving to attain our own version of “Peak Potential.”
Randy will be glad to take individual questions during his presentation. Please be sure to join us Sunday, February 11th for Randy’s motivational presentation.
Our kitchen crew will be preparing a sumptuous feast of scrambled eggs, bagels, lox, and whitefish salad with veggies, fruit, orange juice, milk, coffee, and water.
The cost for breakfast is $10 for all members in good standing and any of those members guests that may accompany them. The cost for breakfast for non-members will be $18.
