Rabbi Jon and the Ritual Committee invite you to an exploration of whether Beth Abraham should change its policies so that the rabbi can officiate at weddings between someone who is Jewish and someone who is not Jewish, and so that these weddings can take place at the Temple.
Come and hear why we have decided to move forward on this issue now. We will talk about Beth Abraham’s story of increasing inclusion of interfaith families, talk about and invite people to share about their own families’ experiences, survey how marriage is changing within the Jewish world, study Jewish sources on the subject, and discuss what such a change would mean for our relationship to the Conservative movement in Judaism. This will be a very interactive presentation with a lot of time for questions throughout.
If you have any thoughts or questions ahead of time, feel free to be in touch with Rabbi Jon and/or Helen Honorow, Ritual Committee chairperson.
The final session will be on Zoom only -- click here or remain on after minyan. No registration required.
