We will have a special program with Rivka Schwartz, a member who is a naturalist and clinical herbalist. She will talk to us about the healing remedies of Ashkenazi Jews.  There was a lot more to health practices in Jewish communities in Eastern Europe than chicken soup.  

Who were the healers in the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe?  What were some of the attitudes, beliefs, practices and remedies prevalent in the Ashkenazi Jewish communities?  

After taking a quick journey through 4000 years of Jewish healing in the many countries Jews lived, we’ll take a deeper look into the health practices of the last 400 years in Eastern Europe. She will also present some ideas and recipes to bring this into modern herbal practice along with western, and other herbal practices.
